Construction and Working
The Split Butterfly Valvesconsists of two separate halves : a driving half (Active) and a driven half (Passive). The System is such that any passive will fit into any Active (non-pressure rated or pressure rated ) of the same size.Within the Active and passive assemblies are two halves of the butterfly type disc. The two halves (Active and Passive) mate together along their axis of rotation. Sealing amongst the discs is obtained via a metal-to-metal seal at the external edge of the discs. The disc and shaft design of each half is a solid one-piece component, reducing crevices and increasing power when coupled.
