Laboratory Testing of Decorative Lamination Sheet.

Decorative Lamination sheet are
normally used for house hold and office furniture, electronic panels
etc.

that, it should not crake under the effect of impact which they may

encounter in every day use.

The ability of Decorative lamination
sheets to withstand such impacts may be determine by 2 method.

(A) SMALL DIAMETER BALL IMPACT
METHOD.

(B) LARGER DIAMETER BALL IMPACT
METHOD.

In the Small Diameter Ball Impact
Method, the sheet under test is bonded to a 18 to 20mm thick sheet

of particle board and placed over a
rigid metallic platform and impact gun consisting of the indenting
ball

and a compress spring is placed in a
circular supporting frame place over the test sheet and the ball

made to strike it by releasing the
spring. The effect of such impacts is evaluated visually to ascertain
the

impact resistant of the sheet under
test.

NOVA Small Diameter Ball Impact
Tester for decorative lamination sheet consist of two part .

(A) A circular supporting plate for
holding the impact hammer perpendicular to the surface of the sheet

made of Mild Steel and a hole in centre
to hold impact gun viewing windows & 3 legs for placing it on

surface of the sheet under test.

(B) An Impact gun to strike the ball
against the surface of the sheets with a none force.

OPTIONAL

Support platform made of Mild Steel of
size 300 x 300 x 50mm arranged by users or can be

supply at an extra cost.

The Impact gun is made of metal tube
and has a ball indenter of 5mm diameter. The indenter can be

pulled back again compression spring
with the help of a spring/holding device and it will be held in
pulled

state by a catch cum release lever
arrangement.

A release lever is provided to release
the ball to enable it to strike on the sheet under Test. The impact

force can be set by pre compressing the
spring and its value his mark on the barrel of the metal tube.
