Product Application
INDOCON is a two layer Semi conductive water
blocking tapes used in power cables in the screen area
(wire, tape) over the open metal screen (wire, tape),
if a separate radial water barrier is present, under
the coated metal screen, which act also as a radial
water barrier, smooth, extruded or folded or sealed.
The purpose of this tape is to provide water blocking for
conductor in power cable.

Description
INDOCON tapes are manufactured using state
of the art scatter coating technology. The polyester
non woven fabric is coated with a blend of super
absorbent polymers using water soluble adhesive,
carbon black and corrosion inhibitor. The coating content
determines the swelling height and blending determines
the gel strength and stability towards heat. These are
further wrapped, if required, with a fine overlay tissue.
The special corrosion inhibitors provide extended life of
any metal component of the cable.
INDOCON water blocking tapes are available in pad
form in lengths in excess of 1 km.
