A reflectance scanner for determining principal characteristics / physical parameters of grains like rice.
Instrument is capable to give correct Average Kernel Area, Average Kernel Length, Average Kernel Width, Count, KKW, Dockage, Chalkiness, Whiteness and Discolored Seeds.
This is a non destructive analysis and the sample can be kept safely for further investigation.
Instrument must use a flat bed desk top scanner, a sample tray. It creates a digital image of the sample grains, to analyze the image.
It should be able to analyze 1300 rice kernels at once.
Instrument must come with a touch pad PC for easy operations.
Instrument must be supplied with pre-installed easy to use software.
There must not be any cumbersome software licensing issues.
Easy calibrations procedure and adjustment procedures must be available.
One screen summary of all results
Flexible customization of screen must be available.
It generates detailed data tables that can be exported as a spreadsheet, HTML, images as Jpeg.
Length determines Class 1, 2,3 % of grains within a certain length defines the Class.
Head grains: grains with broken ends.
Chalkiness: white blemishes on grain. Normally SeedCount measures grains with more than 30% white. New software measure 0-10%, 10-25%, 25-50%, 50-75%, 75%+
Good comparison with manual assessment of rice. Excellent reproducibility of length and width measurements.
