Screw Thickener

Technical Description :
The Screw Thickener is mounted on a rigid structure manufactured in rectangular steel tubes. There is a hinged cover over the outlet from the press. Inspection covers are provided to facilitate cleaning of the screen Drum.

The screen drum, thickness is 8 mm manufactured in SS 316, has double drilled perforations, hole area 35%. The screw mantle is split horizontally to facilitate replacement of screen basket and press screw. The drum is screwed into the flanges.
The screw body is a straight cone with gradually narrowing pitch of flights towards the outlet end. The screw body is attached to the shaft pins with a flange coupling. The pressure side and top of the flights are surface hardened for maximum durability. The screw is manufactured in stainless steel. Shafts are supported in spherical roller bearings.
For setting the outlet dryness there is a pneumatically adjustable counter pressure cone at the screw outlet. The counter pressure cone is flexible to avoid blocking and to ensure an even outlet dryness.

All parts in contact with the pulp are manufactured in stainless steel. All other parts are epoxy-painted.
