This class of Conveyors consist of a Stationary U-shaped or Circular Cross-section Trough. A central Pipe, with welded Flights, rotates within the casing - imparting forward motion to the material.

Different Flight designs - such as standard Helical Flights, Paddle Flights, Ribbon Flights, Cut Flights etc. - may be provided - depending upon the product characteristics and conveying / mixing requirement - specific to particular application. Dewatering Screw Presses handle wet material - in order to help remove water and achieve compacting. Screw Feeder design uses Circular Trough - with close Pitch Flights - for extracting and metering specified quantity of material from under the Hopper and conveying it.

Hard-facing is provided on the leading face of the Flights - along the periphery to improve their useful operational life.

Material of Construction - for Flights and Casing - can be Mild Steel, Stainless Steel depending upon the Corrosive / abrasive properties of the material conveyed. The Central Pipe can be ERW or Seamless Pipe - depending upon the application

Jacketed Casing or Jacketed Flights may be provided for product cooling or heating - as applicable, - while conveying.

Hanger Bearings are provided for longer length Screw Flight Assemblies (Length > 6 m) - in order to keep the Screw deflection - within limits. Bronze, Cast Iron or Stellite Coated Hanger Bearings may be provided - depending upon the specific Application and the material characteristics.
