Cylinder bores are cross honed and diameters are properly ground finished to achieve the highest level of accuracy. Function of a liner is to impart adequate energy to the balls so as to ensure efficient crushing and pulverizing of feed. Liners are designed to avoid any direct impact of balls, (which results in loss of energy and breakage). Each liner is designed according to the application, mill design and fineness desired. There is no unique liner design for universal application.
