Ptfe (Ptfe) Seals

PTFE are generally used in conjunction with rubber elastic material or metal spring, which provide the necessary contact pressure and preload with the sliding surface. PTFE is a fluoro plastic that work as thermoplastic portrayed by excellent resistance to chemicals. This is due to the strong carbon-florine bond in the molecular chain. The thermal operating range is between - 200 degree Celsius to +260 degree Celsius. The good anti-adhesive characteristic and low coefficient of fiction in static and dynamic conditions are features of fluoro plastic.
Depending on the temp and load, PTFE has a tendency of creep or cold flow. Generally filled PTFE materials are used with glass fiber or bronze. These additives reduce the thermal expansion, increases the thermal conductivity, improve the wear strength and the resistance to permanent deformation(Cold Flow.
