Propylene Glycol is a propanediol that exists as a clear, colorless and hygroscopic liquid and consists of propane where the hydrogens at positions 1 and 2 are substituted by hydroxyl groups. Propylene glycol is used as an organic solvent and diluent in pharmaceuticals and many other industrial applications.

Mono Ethylene Glycol (MEG), or ethylene glycol (\(C_{2}H_{6}O_{2}\)), is a colorless, odorless, slightly viscous, and hygroscopic liquid primarily used to produce polyester fibers, PET resins, and antifreeze/coolant agents. It is produced via the reaction of ethylene oxide and water. Major applications include PET bottle production, industrial heat transfer fluids, and gas hydrate inhibition.

Polyester & PET Production: Over 59% of global MEG is used to produce polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resins, films, and polyester fibers for textiles and packaging. Antifreeze & Coolants: Used in automotive radiators and industrial heat transfer fluids to prevent freezing in winter and overheating in summer. Natural Gas Dehydration: Acts as a desiccant to remove moisture from natural gas, preventing hydrate formation in pipelines. Deicing Fluids: Used for aircraft and runway deicing, as well as in heat transfer systems. Chemical Intermediate: Used in the manufacturing of polyester resins, lubricants, surfactants, and Alkyd resins for paints and varnishes.
