Primaquine Tablets are an oral antimalarial medicine containing Primaquine, an 8-aminoquinoline derivative. Primaquine acts against the liver stages of Plasmodium parasites, including dormant hypnozoites of Plasmodium vivax and Plasmodium ovale, helping to prevent relapse of malaria. It also has activity against mature gametocytes of Plasmodium falciparum, reducing transmission potential.

Primaquine is commonly used as a radical cure therapy in combination with appropriate blood-stage antimalarial medicines for the treatment of P. vivax and P. ovale malaria, as recommended by national and international treatment guidelines.
