Pipewrap - Bituminous Tape , 2mm & 4mm Thickness Options, High Softening Point, 3 & 4 Ply With Fiberglass And Hmhdpe Inner Core

PipeWrap - BT is a hot applied corrosion protection bituminous tape conforming to IS : 10221 Appendix B specification. It comes in two thickness's: two mm & four mm. The 4 mm thick PipeWrap - BT is a four ply tape with two inner cores. The top core is of tough 45 gsm
fiber glass and the bottom core is of 15 micron high tensile strength HMHDPE. The two mm PipeWrap - BT is a three ply tape without the fiber glass inner core. The specially formulated corrosion resistant bitumen compound provides high softening point, high penetration and high resistance to ageing. The tape comprises of high tensile strength thermofusible HMHDPE Film on both the side.

Uses:-
PipeWrap - BT is designed for application on buried and immersed pipes, fittings and appurtenances to protect them from high corrosive environment. For application on steel substrates and steel fittings, a coat of ShaliTex Primer (FD) is required.

Application:-
Pipelines when treated in the correct way with ShaliTex Primer (FD) and wrapped with PipeWrap - BT remain corrosion free for at least 25 years. The pipe surface should be cleaned thoroughly either with wire brush or should be sand blasted. On the cleaned surface ShaliTex Primer (FD) is applied at 90 ml/sqm to get DFT of 30 microns. The surface should be allowed to touch dry (30 minutes at least). For application on weld joints, necessary welding and testing of the joint should first be completed. The remaining procedure remains the same as that of pipe.
