This is the most common mineral and is composed of SiO2. Further, the other substances and quartz are polymorphs of silicon dioxide and related to an informal group quartz or silica. Apart from quartz, all members of this group are uncommon to extensively rare to found on the earth and further stable only under high pressures and temperatures. Though these minerals share the same chemistry yet these have own unique structures.
