This formulation is a non-ionic polyelectrolyte used for various solid-liquid separating applications like sludge dewatering, effluent treatment, STP settling, oilfield, drilling muds, mineral processing, paper making, etc. It also works as a de-oiling polyelectrolyte. It does not carry a net charge when dissolved in water. Unlike traditional polyelectrolytes, which are either positively or negatively charged, non-ionic polyelectrolytes have neutral polymer chains. They are typically made up of non-ionic monomers such as polyethylene oxide (PEO) or polyvinyl alcohol (PVA).
