Intramuscular or subcutaneous injection as prescribed

Dosage Guidelines Administration: Subcutaneous injection (not IV or IM). Starting dose (adults): -thalassemia: 1 mg/kg once every 3 weeks. Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS): 1 mg/kg once every 3 weeks. Adjustment: If response is inadequate, dose may be increased to 1.25 mg/kg (maximum). Dose interruptions or reductions may be required for side effects (e.g., high hemoglobin, hypertension, bone pain). Treatment goal: Reduce or eliminate the need for red blood cell transfusions. Reconstitution: Each vial must be reconstituted with sterile water before injection
