The main purpose of the Motor Generator is to convert the 50Hz power from the mains to 60Hz power used for load supply. The experience that Piller has gained in the construction of several thousand power supply systems was utilised during development. The MG-Set consists of a converter and a switchboard. Two different versions are available. Version one is the so called "free standing version". In this case the converter and the switchboard are separated. Version two is the "compact version". In this instance the converter and the switchboard are built into a compact cabinet.
