Load Box Testing System

The Load Box Testing System is a software based application developed to perform tests on the Diesel Loco Engine under different load conditions. In real time the loco engine is coupled to an alternator which provides the electrical power to the traction motors that drives the wheels of the locomotive. In the Load Box Testing System, the electrical output from the alternator is provided to a water load box instead of the traction motor. The Load Box Testing System is capable of starting the diesel engine, controlling the alternator output (the loading condition by controlling the load box), running the engine at various loads for set time, acquiring various operational parameters of the engine, alternator & load box. The Load Box Testing System can also calculate and log various derived parameters like SFC, etc. The system can display the data in various user-configurable formats, log the data at high speeds and can provide custom reports as per customer requirements.
