Khakara

Khakara is crispy and tasty, ready to eat Indian snack. It is prepared from whole-wheat flour by adding spices in different proportion to get the varieties of flavours and the taste required.

Khakara is prepared from the dough in a circular form like Roti/Phulka/Chappathis/Tortila and cooked on a flat or slightly concave iron griddle called tawa. In the roasting process one has to keep khakara rotating on tawa by pressing it continuously by using thick cloth pad. For this purpose use medium flame or heat. Roast both the sides of the khakara till it become a biscuit brown shade. The aroma of ghee (clarified butter) will be very enticing.

After roasting process keep the khakara to cool. Khakara is garnished with chutney, ghee (clarified butter), cheese, tomatoes, pickles, onion, coriander leaves etc and served to taste.
