Freight elevators are designed as per customized needs. They normally have larger cabin size and load carrying capacity than a passenger elevator. Freight elevators are designed with manually operated doors and collapsible metal doors and normally have sturdy cabin finishes to prevent damage while loading and unloading material in the cabin. Electric elevators are more energy efficient for the work of freight lifting. It designed to carry goods, rather than passengers. Freight elevators are generally required to display a written notice in the car that the use by passengers is prohibited, though certain freight elevators allow dual use.
