Hydraulic Thimble Presses is a proven technology for the automation of the task of stripping cast iron thimbles from the stubs on anode rods. The rods are transferred on a P&F overhead conveyor system in the Anode Service Plant to the Thimble Stripping Press. The machine includes a support frame , a fixed plate assembly secured to the supporting frame and a ram assembly extended towards the fixed plate assembly. The fixed plate assembly comprises a substantially rigid fixed plate having recesses to receive the yoke and yoke stubs.
