Construction and Range:
Heating cables are designed in a range of resistances to generate varying power outputs. They are made of stranded or coiled Nichrome or Cupronickel wire. They are provided with a primary insulation of PTFE, over which is provided a metallic braid, and then a final insulation of PVC or PTFE.

The kind of primary and secondary insulations are determined based on the application. A floor heating cable would normally have a primary PTFE and secondary PVC, while a process line heating cable would have both primary and secondary PTFE.
