It takes over 100 times as much pressure to break a string of Graphene as it would to break the same thickness of steel, so it can certainly support some interesting new structures.
Graphene is a good conductor, even at room temperature, which makes it naturally interesting to any industry looking to miniaturize a like the electronics industry. While computer part manufacturers look to find new ways to lay down silicon transistors ever more densely, their efforts are predicted to stall soon; you simply cannot make silicon transistors much smaller than we already do. But Graphene can be literally as small as physically possible, opening the door for huge increases in the number of computing units per chip.
