Membrane filter press is fitted with flexible membrane plate.The outside faces of the plates are covered by a plastic or rubber diaphragm.Membrane plates usually operates at a feed pressure of up to 7 bar and squeez pressure up to 15 bar.Special plates can be designed for higher feed and squeez pressure.

Advantage of membrane filter press :

Convectional filter presses filter only 75 - 80 % of the batch in the first 50 % of the cycle time.If the plate stock is opened before the full cycle is complete , the result is a wet , sloppy cake.

A membrane filter press however can be stopped at the most efficient point in it's cycle.By applying pressure to the membrane built in to the filter plate , the cake squeezed to achieve final solid content in significantly reduced cycle time.
