Feed water heater may be constructed suitably for horizontal or vertical installation, depending on the plant design requirement. The physical and thermal characteristics are vastly different for low and high pressure feed water heaters. Each feed water will contain from one to three separate heat transfer areas or zones including the de-superheating, condensing and sub-cooling zones.
