Technical Data:
The weight of dry soil contained in a certain amount of natural clods, this is what we call soil density, namely, soil bulk density. Its measuring unit is g/cm3. Generally, the soil bulk density stands among 1.0-1.9 g/cm3. Ita s relatively more suitable for plants to grow when the bulk density of compacted clods is among 1.1-1.4 g/cm3. While the density is above 1.4g/cm3, the growth of plantsa root will be restricted because of the tight soil, and then the ventilating and drainage would be influenced, thus plants wouldna t grow well. In this way we know that the research of relations among porosity, bulk density and particle density is really important.
