Dkdp Pockets Cell

A DKDP Pockets Cell alters the polarization state of light passing through it when an applied voltage induces birefringence changes in an electro-optic crystal such as DKDP and BBO. When used in conjunction with polarizer, these cells can function as optical switches, or laser Q-switches, which can be used in laser cavities to shorten the output pulse and help to produce a light beam with enhanced peak intensity.

Brief Introduction:-
Q-switching technique made an important breakthrough in laser technology. By applying Q-switching technique, laser energy can be compressed and emitted as an extreme narrow pulse, causing the laser peak power increased by several levels. Electro-optic Q-switching technique is based on the special photoelectric effect of some crystal materials and has developed to be the most widely used Q-switching technique which possesses many advantages, such as: short on-off period (about 10-9 s), high efficiency, precise control of Q-time, narrow pulse (nanosecond level), high peak power (up to 100 MW level), etc.
