They control the start. stop and direction of flow

Under urgent situation. the spool can be derived by hidden hand override
Solenoid coil can be rotated through 90o
Coil can be replaced without releasing any fluid.
Choice of either central or individual electrical connections
Optional hand emergency
All valves can he changed from AC to DC or DC to AC by changing coil only
