Solubility: Soluble in water with golden colour. Turns dullish violet on addition of cos HCL. Moderately sol in ethanol with golden yellow colour. Slightly sol in acetone & cellosolve. Sol in cons H2so4 with reddish violet color, on dilution turn to blackish violet. Gives dark brown colour sons with con Hno3.
Application : For dying & printing of wool ,nylon & silk . Other user are indicator (ph range 6.4 to 9.4, co change from yellow to reddish orange ), Paper ( beater dying & surface coloring), leather & Biological stain.
