D.c. Shunt

The D.C. Shunt (or ME shunts) available with us are ideal for current ratings from 5 to 15000 Amps and mill volt drops of 75 milli volts. The product conforms to IS Standards 1248 and is provided with leads of 0.025 ohms. Some of its construction features are cited below:

# It consists of Mangenin rods, soldered or silver brazed, to brass end blocks.
# It is artificially aged after manufacture; followed by tests on full load.
# Lead resistance is considered while calibrating the instrument

Salient features of the ME Shunts are as follows:
# Class 1 accuracy
# Temperature Co-Efficient
# 0.002% per degree centigrade, above ambient temperature in still air, with free ventilation
# Temperature not exceeding 120A C at the center and 90A C at the ends
# The ME Shunts withstand temperatures up to 120oC; without any permanent alterations in physical or electrical properties
# Overloads and faults due to high temperatures (>120oC) can be safely handled

All 75 milli volts drop shunts of class 1, withstand the following overload requirements:
# 2 X rated current for 3 minutes
# 4 X rated current for 30 seconds
# 10 X rated current for 5 seconds
# Negligible Power Loss
# Rugged Construction
# Adequate Size of Stamping (Allows easy readability from a distance)
# Adequately Plated Metal Parts for Tropical Condition
