The application of this instrument is to find the amount and rate of gas evolution from some specific sand mixture. The primary sand type tested in this apparatus is the resin coated sand and its gas evaluation is determined through it. This measuring instrument comprises a tube furnace i.e., combustion tube, automatic temperature controller cum indicator, stop cork, and boat pusher. In addition, the requisite volumetric glass apparatus and rubber tubing are also integrated in the Core Gas Determinator.

Few Precautions

• When heaters are operating hot, do not move the machine
• When in hot condition, stay away from Core Gas Determinator to avoid burning
• First manually bring down the furnace temperature to 300^oC and then turn off the machine
