Cold Rolling is the process of treating any metal below its re-crystallization temperature, i.e., at its room temperature. It increases the strength of the metal, thereby strain hardening up to 20% and also improve the surface finish and enhance the tolerance capacity. The most commonly used cold-rolled products comprise bars, strips, sheets and rods. These mentioned products are smaller in size to the same product, which is hot rolled. Due to the smaller size of the unprocessed product and its huge strength, the cluster mills or four-high process is utilized. The Cold Rolling process cannot reduce the thickness of the material, which is to be processed as much as the hot rolling processes in a single pass.
