Indonesia has the largest coconut plantations in the world (about 31.2% from total coconut plantations in the world), which account for about 3.88 million hectare of coconut plantations accross Indonesian archipelago and equivalent to 3 million MT copra annually. In recent years, there is an increase global demand of coconut products for example coconut fibre geotextile which is widely used in some country for erosion prevention. Therefore Indonesia has the largest potential resources to supply coconut product to the world's market.
