a Cassiaa - an aromatic bark is similar to cinnamon, but differs in strength and quality. Cassia barks are darker, thicker and coarser. The outside of a bark is rough and grayish brown, and the inside of the bark is smoother and reddish-brown. Cassia is less costly than cinnamon and is often sold ground as cinnamon. When in trade, cinnamon rolls into a single quill while cassia is rolled from both sides toward the center so that they end up resembling scrolls.
