INTRODUCTION :
THE CARDANOL RESIN IS A CARDANOL RESIN IS SUPPLIED IN 70%,55%,50% SOLIDS.

Acid value : maximum 5
Viscosity (40% solution in MTO at 30E c in ford cup no.4) : 20-30 sec

Drying time :

Surface dry : 30-40 min
Tackfree : 2 hours
Hard dry : 4 hours
Scratch resistance : 1000 gms
Flexibility & adhesion : good

Solubility :
MTO , toluene , ketones , esters , etc.

Recommended driers :
Lead octoate 18% - 1.0% , cobalt octoate 6% - 0.1% , manganese octoate6% - 0.1% as metals on the solid content of the resin are recommended. After addition of the driers ageing for 24 hours is recommended.

Storage :
The storage stability of this resin is satisfactory for 6 months. However the recommended storage temperature is 25-30E c and container should not be exposed to heat .


Chemical resistance :

The film is resistant to water , Acid (2% H2SO4) and Alkali (1% sodium hydroxide) and 5% sodium bi-carbonate solution and gives good anti corrosive properties.

It can be used as a medium for
1. Paints
2. Printing inks
3. Compositions with high outdoor durability
4. Used in substitution of alkyds in enamels
5. Furniture coatings etc.
