Halkayan Industry and Trading PLC, is an Ethiopian trader and exporter of various agricultural products including Chickpeas, Brown Chickpeas, Red Speckled Beans, Pinto Beans, Green Mung Beans, light speckled beans, Broad Bean Seed, Kabuli chickpeas, Soyabean, Sesame Seeds, Organic Turmeric, pulses, oil seeds, Black Cumin Seeds, etc. The company is exporting these products especially in the markets of Morocco, Uganda, India and Ghana. Halkayan was established in 2016 GC with the initial capital of 3 million and currently distribute pharmaceutical products only, but has a plan to start manufacturing pharmaceuticals locally. The company is already in a negotiation to acquire one pharmaceutical manufacturing firm. The company acquired a 902 meter square mixed use land at center of Addis Ababa by winning a land lease bid and constructed the basement of nine floors building. Apart from this, the company have set up the pharmaceutical manufacturing factory 20km away from Addis. Currently, the head office is located in the building of its sister company, AGT in Lideta subcity, woreda 03, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
