Bengal Super TMT (Thermo Mechanically Treated) bar is manufactured by a 3-Stage process. The process involves Rolling. Quenching, Self-Tempering and Atmospheric Cooling.

1st Stage- Rolling & Quenching : In the stage, reheated billet goes through rolling process and is passed through the quenching process, wherein the surface of the bar is instantly cooled to martensite, while the core is still austenitic.

2nd Stage Self Tempering : In the stage, heat from the core of the bar dissipates to the surface allowing to form tempered martensite, while the core remains austenitic.

3rd Stage Atmospheric Cooling : In this stage, the bar is cooled on the cooling bed resulting in the austenitic core being converted into ductile ferrite-pearlite core. This gives Bengal Super TMT the superior qualities of strength and ductility.
