Barite (Baso4) Application: For School

It is used as a mineral filler in a variety of products including paints, paper, glass, rubber, plastics, friction material and the protective barriers against radiation.
Barite is used primarily in the oil industry (80%) as an additive in drilling muds.
In the chemical industry, barite is particularly used in the manufacture of derived barium, such as carbonates, chlorides, oxides, hydroxides, peroxides, nitrates and sulfates of barium.
In the metallurgical industry, barium oxide improves the efficiency of the electric furnace. Barium chloride is used as the hardener and based steel weld.
In the automotive industry, barite is used as an inert filler in friction materials such as brake pads and clutch plates.
In the construction industry, barite used in the manufacture of dense concrete used in the construction of ports and oil terminals. This type of concrete is also used as counterweight bridges, stabilizing underwater pipes, ballast boats and protective barrier against possible radiation. It is also used in the construction of laboratories, nuclear power plants and atomic bases.
