Aluminum Chromium Sputtering Targets

Aluminum chromium targets can provide antioxidant nitride coatings and composite coatings for cutting tools such as drill bits, milling cutters, punch bars, and gear hobbing cutters in mechanical processing. This coating has excellent high heat resistance and antioxidant properties, which can further extend the service life of the tool and improve machining efficiency by increasing tool rotation speed and accelerating feed speed.

In coating practice, we have learned that finer aluminum chromium targets can effectively reduce droplet generation and improve coating rate. So we have two types of aluminum chromium targets: conventional and fine-grained. In order to achieve better coating hardness, oxidation resistance, and high temperature resistance, we can produce chromium aluminum based targets with trace elements added, such as ternary and quaternary metals such as CrAlSi, CrAlW, CrAlB, and CrAlSiW.
