Colorless transparent liquid, water solvents with PH value less than 7, and its density of 1.14. Boiling point 101.2celcius, hardening point -29celcius, flash point 35celcius, ignition temperature 415celcius, soluble in water and ethanol.
Usage:
It can used as solvent, additive for combustion, surface active agent, to make compound, polymer, resin, paint, wax products as well as for the production of explosives, rocket and racing car fuel, medicine, dye, pesticide and gas additive. In domestic, it mainly used to produce chloropicrin (trichloronitromethane). As a hobby fuel, nitromethane provides more horsepower and better engine performance. Nitromethane is an efficient nitrogen donor which makes it a highly functional molecule for organic synthesis for the development and manufacture of products such as pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals.
