Applications:
1,5-Pentanediol is an important chemical intermediate. Can be used as dihydroxy alcohol for PPT, as well as the raw material for polyether polyols of PU. Can be used to synthetise special polyester and as a chain extender in polyurethane.
Widely used in innovative thermoplastic polyurethanes, polyester resins, alkyd resins, plasticizers, pharmaceuticals, crop protection agents, piperidine, inkjet inks or inks, cosmetics, paints and spices. Also can be used for antifreezing agents, synthetic lubricants, brake oil, cutting oil, special detergents, disperse dyes, Latex paints' solvents or wetting agents.
Besides, 1,5-pentanediol can be made into Glutaraldehyde, which is the raw material for artificial sythetisized muskiness-105.
