Mainly used for tenderizing canned ham and softening bean skin in canned broad beans. Also used as water softener pH regulator and thickener.3.Sodium tripolyphosphate is used in detergents as an additive soap synergist and to prevent bar soap from crystallizing and blooming. It is also a water softener for industrial water a pretanning agent for leather making a dyeing auxiliaries a mud control agent for oil wells an oil pollution prevention agent for paper making and an effective dispersant for the treatment of suspensions such as paint kaolin magnesium oxide and calcium carbonate. Food grade sodium tripolyphosphate can be used as a food improver for various fish products and a clarifier for beverages.
