CII Webinar: Enabling Semiconductor Equipment Supply-chain 2020

Fri, 10 Jul 2020 - Fri, 10 Jul 2020

Online Fair

Semiconductor Equipment Supply-chain is a $15 billion opportunity. The country has the capacity and capability to cater the sector’s requirements. For instance, gas pipe lines which are used in chemical industries could be shipped to this sector if the Indian industry could upgrade their manufacturing to semiconductor grade specifications. The resulting product could also have demand in adjacent sectors like pharmaceutical. The near-term product opportunities for servicing this sector will be in chemical, mechanical and electrical sector industries- and the first-movers could capture a respectable share of a potentially assured demand of $200-300 million. Commodities that could be sourced from India in the immediate future with some technological upgrade for semiconductor grade specially include such as Machining, Sheetmetal, Electrical Panels, Vacuum systems, Ultra-High Vacuum cleaning, Cable and Harness, Ceramics, Gas lines etc. With this background, CII is organising a Webinar on “Enabling Semiconductor Equipment Supply Chain” at 1130 hrs on 10 July 2020 to enable a cost-competitive industry in India. We have invited Shri Saurabh Gaur*, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and senior official from Karnataka State Government to join us and address the Webinar.
