Acid Slurry is a name for LABSA which stands for Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulphonic Acid. This is manufactured through sulphonation process of linear alkyl benzene by adding a sulphonation agent. Sulphonation is a reversible chemical reaction that yields benzenesulfonic acid by adding fuming sulfuric acid and sulfur trioxide. Acid slurry thus produced through this process is used for various industrial applications such as production of washing soap and detergent powder.

A number of different acid slurry with different concentration of acid is prepared for different application purposes. Acid has property of cleaning or removing stains or dirt. That is the prime reason that acid slurry is used in detergent powders and soaps and cleaning formulations.
