About Venue
The Sandown Racecourse is situated 25 KM from the Melbourne CBD on the Princes Highway in the suburb of Springvale in the City of Greater Dandenong. Built for the Victoria Amateur Turf Club, it is the only metropolitan racecourse built in the 20th century and was opened before a crowd of 52,000, in June 1965.
