Q. Which paper is used for letterhead?
Answer
Letterheads are typically printed on paper with a weight of 120gsm. Some businesses choose a thicker (160gsm) or thinner (90-100gsm) option. However, we print on 120gsm uncoated paper material for approximately 90% of our letterheads. Uncoated paper, the type most commonly used in office printers, has no coating and hence readily accepts and absorbs ink. Forms, letterheads, and memo paper benefit greatly from being uncoated since they may be written on with either a pen or a printer. Letterhead paper may be found in weights between 80 and 160 gsm (gsm = grams per meter squared), with a recommended range of 100 to 120 gsm. Colors and textures range from cast to glossy to drab to matte.
