Q. What is HD CCTV camera?

Answer

It's important to note that not all CCTV systems that claim to be HD actually are. The standard definition for high definition is 1080P (1920 × 1080 pixels) which equates to 2.1 megapixels. Some people consider HD to be 720P (1280 by 720 pixels) which is 0.9 megapixels. Manufacturers exclusively sell 1080P HD cameras and DVR recorders on CCTV42 despite the fact that this is vastly superior to the typical D1 resolution of 720 x 576 pixels (0.4 megapixels). 960H with its 0.55 megapixels and 960 by 576-pixel resolution is not high definition. Exactly like regular D1 CCTV the resolution is perfect. While the pixel density in 960H is the same as in normal definition D1 the aspect ratio is 16:9 rather than 4:3 and the extra pixels are used to fill the extra space on the sides.
