Q. What is cable shielding and how does it work?
Answer
Under the outer
jacket of control and instrumentation cables may wrap a form of
electromagnetic shielding material around the line. Shielding protects the
transmitted signal from electrical noise and reduces the electromagnetic
radiation emitted by the rope.
