It is a black solid material at room temperature. Like Binder Pitch it also consists of a complex mixture of predominantly aromatic hydrocarbons. Impregnation Pitch is used in the Graphite industry during the electrode manufacturing process to fill and cover pores for the enhancement of an electrodes life.
