Wear Plates - High Manganese High Alloy Steel, 250-500 Bhn Hardness, Exceptional Toughness & Shock Resistance

A high manganese high alloy steel specifically developed for applications where high impact and abrasion in combination are predominant wear factors. After suitable heat treatment and air toughening the complex carbides remain in solution providing excellent toughness associated with high elongation. The particular merit of lies in its extraordinary toughness and resistance to abrasion and shock loads. It has predominantly complex structure and work hardening properties. When subjected to progressive shock loading the hardnessnner core retains its tou of the outer core keeps on increasing and reaches as high as 550 bhn, where as the highness and strength, giving shock absorbing property. As abrasion progresses the hardened surface layer keeps on renewing itself so that in spite of the progressive wear it retains its excellent resistance to wear and core toughness. Ideally suited for crushing equipments and parts of material handling devices which are subjected to extreme impact and shock loads associated with abrasion. As deposited hardness is about 250 bhn which reaches to 500 bhn in presence of progressive wear.
