Looktech has developed Exacterboy, vitrified bond diamond wheel, based on our long experience as a top-rank Manufacturer of diamond styluses for record players. The wheels once used for manufacturing diamond styluses are now used mainly for grinding PCD/PCBN cutting tools.

PCD (polycrystalline diamond) and PCBN (polycrystalline cubic boron nitride), used for cutting tools are excellent materials obtained by sintering diamond or CBN powder with a small amount of binder. The each powder in these raw materials varies in its degree of wear, depending on the orientation of the crystal. Nonetheless, when powders are sintered in a binder, they have a random orientation in the binder matrix, so the macro wear resistance is very high. This is the secret of PCD/PCBN cutting tools materials.

This same wear resistance makes it difficult to fabricate PCD/PCBN tools by grinding. However, EXACTERBOY, which is used for grinding diamond, sapphire and ruby precision industrial parts, delivers excellent performance even when grinding difficult-to-cut PCD/PCBN.
