Virginiamycin is a class of streptogramin-related depsipeptides isolated from the bacterium Streptomyces virginiae and other Streptomyces bacterial species. Used in agriculture, specifically in livestock, to accelerate the growth of the animals and to prevent and treat infections.

Tylosin is used in veterinary medicine to treat bacterial infections in a wide range of species and has a high margin of safety.
